Walking Tourist: Review of Research to Date

One of the most common activities among tourists is walking, providing visitors with a range different experiences places they visit. These can vary, depending on time year, weather, and, importantly, motivations individual. Much attention has gone into understanding ways in which built and natural environments create opportunities for people to walk. However, walking behaviors differ from those local residents. This paper explores walkability by adopting systematic review literature databases. The descriptive theme focused general importance four major themes tourist studies are identified. findings their limitations point toward need further study, focus residents order understand whether there differences attributes that may affect experiences.
